The Center for Arab and Mediterranean Music is pleased to announce the publication of the book "The Sufi repertoire of the mizwid genre in Tunisia", by Hatem Lajmi.
This trilingual 68-page book comes with a micro-SD card which contains precious recordings by the Tunisian artist Abderrazek Kliou. Nûbâ(s) of the Sufi music of mizwid (Tunisian bagpipe) were recorded by Abderrazek Kliou and his band in 2015 at the patio of the Ennejma Ezzahra palace.
Hatem Lajmi's work can be considered as a first step in preserving the heritage of the Sufi Mizwid genre in Tunisia and as a posthumous tribute to this artist.
To find out more about this new publication, a press conference followed by a concert will be organized by the Center for Arab and Mediterranean Music (the date will be communicated soon)
