Duet for mediterranean music- Duo Dhahri/Douik

Duet for mediterranean music

From the heart of the Mediterranean, this duet raises the flags of two neighboring countries, Tunisia and Italy, through a musical atmosphere painted by both Tunisian pianist Bassam Makni and Italian violinist Alberto Murari.
These two musicians have a wealthy pedagogic and artistic experience, crystallized through musical performances on three continents offering them a wider musical repertoire. The Duet for mediterranean music is a consecration of spontaneous cultural exchange through collective playing of Tunisian and Italian music that opens to neighboring countries to include Spanish music with all its Andalusian influences as well as French music quite close to Italian one.

Duo Dhahri/Douik:

The Duo Dhahri/Douik (DDD) was formed from the association of two talented Tunisian guitarists: Walid Dhahri and Héla Douik. Freshly founded, Duo Dhahri/Douik's mission is to discover a repertoire of chamber music of a wide variety and until now unknown in Tunisia.
Their repertoire ranges from early and classical music combined with folkloric repertoire from different countries, to modern music by living composers.
From transcriptions of famous works to original works for guitar ensembles, a marvelous musical panorama is exposed to the delight of the listeners. From Boccherini’s Fandango to Bellinati’s Jongo, Duo Dhahri/Douik explores the possibilities offered by the combination of the various sounds of this magical instrument.
